Our Vision
Our principles shape our curriculum - guided by the four seasons
INTENT What are our aims in order to help children learn and develop?
IMPLEMENTATION How we go about this?
IMPACT In what ways do we make a difference?
1. ACCEPTANCE OF ALL – inclusive practice
We help everyone at Mohair to find themselves
We celebrate ‘Cultural Capital’; sharing this with children, parents, staff and the wider community
We work closely with children with additional needs, their parents and Outside Agencies
2. MAKE BEST USE OF OUR ENABLING ENVIRONMENT
We aim to make best use of our rich environment
- Our Forest School sites
- The Farm /li>
- We enable our children to ‘own’ their environment and respect their environment
- We bring the outside in, creating a stimulating environment inside – so that inside and out are linked
- We are guided by the Four Seasons & Nature
3. PROVIDE REAL PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES & PLAY
Through play we aim to:
- Create learners for life through the Characteristics of Effective Learning ; playing and exploring, active learning & thinking creatively and critically
- Help children to independently manage risk from an early age
- Support children’s ability to learn and think for themselves
- Develop PSED skills in order to become confident, independent learners
- Support the development of Self Regulation, Independence, Resilience & Confidence
- Overall we strongly believe that children should be able to ‘own’ their Learning & Development
4. OBSERVATION, ASSESSMENT & PLANNING
Using good meaningful skills, with or without Famly (our online Learning Journey) we aim to…
5. THE POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WE ESTABLISH WITH CHILDREN & PARENTS/CARERS
Strong respectful relationships are at the heart of our practice and we aim to
- Establish a strong parent/carers and Keyperson partnership
- Celebrate the search for knowledge together thereby establishing a rich Community for Learning
- Model good Teamwork and communication
- Facilitate transitions by supporting children and their parents/carers through the stages of children’s early years
