As an exciting addition to the existing registered provision for children 5- 13 yrs, Out of School Holiday Club, the Mohair Centre supports a Nursery for children 1-4yrs.
Our baby room caters for nine 1-2 year olds, our toddler room can cater for up to twenty 2-3 year old’s and our Pre-School group of 16 caters for children in the year prior to them starting school.
The Nursery is open from 8am to 6pm providing full daycare and sessional care throughout the year. We are registered with Ofsted and offer full Early Years Education Entitlement (EYEE) funding for 2-4 year olds who qualify.
We close between Christmas and New Year and are closed on all bank holidays.
We believe in using the outdoor farm and woodland environment as the best classroom possible. We strongly believe in the ethos of ‘SELF DIRECTED PLAY’ and this governs activities at the Mohair Centre as outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). For us the children will learn skills way beyond their development age if they follow their own instincts and interests.
Adult-led learning will also be part of your child's development and our staff are trained to develop self-directed play as far as safety allows and as far as the child wishes to go! For us this is the key to children learning and developing through using their imagination to reach their full potential.
We offer a warm welcome from the team - Nursery Manager Liz would be very happy to show you around, please contact her for an appointment.
Our priorities are:
•The best quality care your child could receive.
•An exciting curriculum following closely the EYFS
but using the Farm and Forest School.
•Self Directed Play.
•Children learning to manage risk in a safe
•Excellent staff training with staff trained to the highest standard through our own City & Guilds Training & Assessment Centre.
